Our Country is In God’s Hands
It’s been almost an entire year since the start of the 9-12 movement and I have to say that it has been a life-changing year for me. I initially joined this group because I was fed up with listening to the news and feeling like there was nothing I could do to make a difference. This was an opportunity to meet other people who felt like I did and at least try to save the America I grew up in. Attending the first meetup at McKenna’s and then the Orlando Tea Party in March 2009 was so movitvating and encouraging to me and my husband. I didn’t know then how much this movement would grow and become so influential in our country. The conservative movement has been awakened and for that, I am thankful. We were silent much too long – – trusting our elected officials to “do the right thing” which of course they didn’t. I remember watching Ronald Reagan as a young adult and respecting the words he said. I wanted that again. I believe that God will honor the efforts of those that love and honor Him.
The other important thing to remember is this. We are not in control of the future of our country – – God is. His plan for our country was made from the beginning and He knows exactly how it will end already. I recently heard a cute song done by The Cathedrals and it goes, “I’ve read the back of the Book and we win!” Those are some comforting lyrics! The efforts of this group are SUPER, but even more important is that we earnestly pray for our “leaders” in DC. I struggle with this issue because it’s hard to pray for people we don’t like. We would rather criticize, complain and curse them, than pray for them. No matter how “lost” they may seem, God can always work miracles. And no matter what happens in the future, I know that I have been saved by Jesus Christ and this is only a temporary place that I am living in. John 3:16
