1 Year Anniversary Party

I am looking forward to the big event coming up this Sunday! Wow I cannot believe it has been a year. I created the meetup site in February last year with my husband hoping to find a few people who felt like us and have a meal and watch a show put on by Glenn Beck… It has become so much more than that. The people I met that day encouraged me to not loose the momentum. It felt good to find so many patriots. The momentum has not stopped it has flourished and I am so glad for that. In a year we have accomplished a lot and educated ourselves more and more. I feel as an American encouraged and as a Mom and Wife supported by both my husband and my kids. My daughters always ask mom are we doing a rally today? They are so AWESEOME! The best part is they get it. I still make sure that I speak to at least 4 people a day to share information about our country, the status of things and the principles and values of our group. A week or two ago I spoke at a GOP luncheon as an invited guest and was encouraged to speak about our group, our motto “Principles Not Parties” and our core values and principles. I also had the privilege to introduce Elizabeth.  Later this month, our group has been asked to present our information to the Christian Coalition, too.  There is great opportunity to help educate people about what is is going on and has been.  However, with this comes an obligation for people to need to participate; not just blog, but actually do something. I am surprised that a few people on our site who took the March poll have stated they are too busy to participate? Are you kidding me? Why be a member of a group then. You are just part of the problem. We are all busy, we will even be more busier when and if things get worse. If you have a hobby it is time to put it on hold, read a book to educate your self, latch on to some one running for office and help them, or work on a research team about a bill and show up at a rally.

I am looking forward to Sunday and seeing some familiar, and new faces. Please bring a friend and come out and have a meal. The food and drink will have a price, however the  camaraderie and friendship is priceless.

See you Sunday!

I’m with you in your assessment of the 8% that say they are ‘too busy” to get involved. I guess our collective future depends on people with time on their hands. Let’s see — my wife and I both work 50+ hours a week for our paychecks; we have a 10-year old involved in all manner of extra-curricular activities that require shuttling to practices and recitals daily; we’re both involved in our church; we donate our time to various charities in the community; we have to shop, cook, clean, wash, mop, and all the other things that go into maintaining a home. Somewhere in there we have to sleep, I guess. You know what? We’re pretty busy, too. But we make the time to be involved. If you have the time to read this blog, you have 1 hour a week to make phone calls, or show up for a sign waving. When your kids ask you why you let the country slip through your fingers, are you going to be comfortable answering them with “I was too busy”? Decisions (and history) are made by people WHO SHOW UP!

Never underestimate the power of a few concerned citizens to change the world — IT”S THE ONLY THING THAT EVER HAS!!!!!

Jamey and I have been working 24/7 to get Jimmy Burg elected for mayor in Jupiter. He is a conservative endorsed in writing by Dick Armey from the Tea party. Every night we are doing meet n greets and showing up for his Q&A sessions and walking with him in neighborhoods to let the people know what he stands for. Also hosting various events for him.

We have missed a lot of meetings with the 9.12 group but hope to be back after this election March 9th. We can see you are running with the ball while we do our duty here in our hometown. Love to all of you for your commitment!

I did answer that I have no time, but I guess I was kind of being a smart aleck because I’m campaigning and so does that count in some way shape or form?
