UPDATE:Like term limits? Tell WPB Mayor Lois Frankel this Monday
AUGUST 9TH PALM BEACH CITY COMMISSIONER’S MEETING!!! A MESSAGE FROM THE ‘KEEP WEST PALM BEACH TERM LIMITS COMMITTEE’
We are getting inquiries from West Palm Beach citizens about how they can help protect West Palm Beach’s existing term limit law and prevent the mayor from running for a third term The best thing you can do right now is to attend the city commission meeting at 4 p.m., Monday, August 9, at City Center, 401 Clematis Street. At this meeting the decision will be made whether or not to put the anti-term limits question on the ballot for November, since the politician-led ‘citizen’ intiative to do this has failed. You can speak to the commission during the comments period, or just stand with us holding a “Keep our 8-year term limits” bumper sticker (these will be provided). Bring your friends and neighbors!
UPDATE: City Commissioner Jeri Muoio has gone on record that she will not support putting the question on the ballot in November. You can read George Bennett’s article on this update in the Post here. Since Kimberly Mitchell and Molly Douglas have already said that they wouldn’t support it, Lois Frankel’s supporters are going to have to brave the heat (and the rotten fruit and vegetables being thrown at them) to collect the 5,800+ signatures to force the issue.
Don’t let this be an excuse to not come out on Monday at 4pm at Lois’ Taj Majal on Clematis, and make sure they get the message; don’t try this again!
