Press Release September 7, 2010 19th Congressional District Republican candidate Joe Budd issued the following statement today

Joe Budd

“All Americans should take great strength over the next few days and renew our resolve in remembering the tragic events of  9/11 and its aftermath. In particular, I have always believed that the events of that infamous day were an attack on all Americans and our nation itself, not just the innocent victims who fell. I take pride in standing shoulder to shoulder with all Americans in remembering those tragic events and those who perished when the Twin Towers collapsed, along with the deaths of so many of our dedicated and heroic New York City police and fire rescuers. Our hearts continue to go out to the families and friends of these innocent victims.

The attack was in the name of a dangerous philosophy and was ruthlessly carried out by a group of Islamic terrorists. This dangerous philosophy to destroy America and this group that carried it out continue to threaten our great nation. With the ninth anniversary rapidly approaching in just a few short days, the nation should never forget the heinous nature of this attack, who it was that attacked us and why. It is for that reason that I am so deeply against the building of any mosque in the shadow of that hallowed site or anywhere near. I am well aware of their legal right to build a mosque. However, it is not only grossly indecent, it is entirely disrespectful of the thousands who perished and the great and continuing pain this nation still suffers.”

God Bless,

Joe Budd

Candidate for U.S. Congress FL District 19

You disgust me. To use 9/11 for self promotion and to trash what America stands for is a disgrace!
