Must See GBTV: Rumors of War III, David Barton and more!

Glenn Beck has been on a roll!  Check out these recent and upcoming episodes of interest.

On the April 13th broadcast of the Glenn Beck Program, Glenn invited approximately 20 people who emigrated from Communist countries to the United States to share their experiences and give advice to Americans who think it can’t happen here.  Their tales of food shortages, lack of religious freedom and lack of privacy were riveting.  As people who have witnessed Communist regimes first hand, they warn they are seeing the start of some of the same things here.  Check out part of the enlightening discussion.

The entire episode is available on demand with your GBTV subscription.

Also, fan-favorite and walking encyclopedia David Barton will be on with Glenn at 5pm on Thursday, April 18th, talking about his new book The Jefferson Lies: Exposing the Myths You’ve Always Believed About Thomas Jefferson.

Finally, Rumors of War III:  Target U.S., the third documentary in the Rumors of War series, will air Wednesday, April 25th at 7pm, followed by a post show hosted by Glenn.  This shocking documentary features Congressman Allen West among other experts who delve into the threat the U.S. is facing by Islamic Extremists seeking the downfall of our country.

Rumors of War I and II are available on demand with your GBTV subscription.

Patriot Academy

Training the next generation’s leaders

I found this great information sounds like a terrific opportunity.

Patriot Academy

Each summer, Patriot Academy helps to train the leaders of the next generation and this year Patriot Academy is adding an adult track for today’s generation. For almost a week (July 30 – August 4, 2012), students from across the nation will learn the legislative process on the floor of the Texas State Capitol. They will write bills and guide those bills through the legislative process, learn debate and communication techniques, and receive training in Biblical worldview and American constitutional philosophy. If you know of any young people with a desire to be future leaders, we highly encourage you to send them to Patriot Academy! And if you’re interested in helping support a student, please consider giving a contribution towards scholarships.

Patriot Academy 2012

It’s our 10th Anniversary!

What: Patriot Academy 2012
Where: Texas State Capitol in Austin, Texas
When: July 30 – August 4, 2012
Age range: 16-25 years old – Student Track

Now also for adults over 25 with our Adult Track Program!

Check out this 5 minute video on Patriot Academy!

Patriot Academy is a five-day leadership training program where students from all across the nation age sixteen to twenty-five learn about America’s system of government from a Biblical worldview. Each summer, young people from around the nation come to the Texas State Capitol to form a fully functioning mock legislative body drafting legislation, debating bills, and passing laws. Students participate in fast-paced, interactive workshops on media relations, public speaking, campaigning techniques and the Founding Fathers’ philosophy of government. Current and former elected officials and experts share their personal experience in government and discuss today’s most relevant issues. Today, Patriot Academy is the premier conservative political training camp in the nation, training young people to effectively engage in every aspect of government, whether as an elected official or an active citizen. As our students are equipped to effect change for the issues that matter most to them, Patriot Academy is fulfilling its vision to raise up a new generation to lead the change in America.

New for 2012! “Patriot Academy: Today’s Generation”

Over the years, requests have been made to have a Patriot Academy Session for adults over 25. We are excited to announce the unveiling of our new adult track program “Patriot Academy: Today’s Generation”!

Many of you are mothers, fathers, singles, employees, business leaders, neighbors, and yes, even a few candidates and public servants – all involved in everyday life. You are concerned about the direction our Nation is headed and want to know how you can be involved, how you can make a difference and stand in the gap!

Now is your chance to learn the election and legislative processes from the ground up! The Adult Track will be formulated with you in mind. Not only will you learn how bills are written and the committee process works, but how to effectively lobby your elected representatives and work to get patriots elected in your community and state. Speakers will address specifically the situations we adults face as we wonder how to make a difference within our sphere of influence.

By the end of the week’s training, you will be able to confidently carry the Torch of Freedom while effectively passing it to the next generation!

Conservative Moms Do Count

As a conservative woman, it’s incredible to hear many comments from liberal women as they disgrace themselves with comments about stay at home mothers. Hilary Rosen, who was hired as a media consultant to DNC Debbie Wasserman Schultz, opened up a can of worms when she stated that Ann Romney had never worked a day in her life, after an interview in which Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney had said that he discusses economic issues with his wife, Ann, on what women are concerned about. Totally unforgivable and disgusting, but not unusual coming from the Left. I admit I am not a big fan of Mitt Romney, in the 2008 campaign they did the very same thing to Sarah Palin, while the so called feminists did nothing to defend her but perpetuated the rhetoric.

It should not matter if you are a working mother or a stay at home mother, it should not matter what your financial situation is, as a mother or a women we know what struggles there are in these tough economic times. And we always have worked hard to either provide or help to provide for our families. So for Ms. Rosen and others like Hillary Clinton to disparage, and name call to women who have chosen to stay at home and raise their children rather than further a career outside of the home is their choice. So stay away from the families of all the candidates. Its bad enough we have so many other issues to deal with, without igniting another war of the ladies. Conservative women and Conservative Moms do count. Remember that before you speak hateful comments.

Allen West at 912 Third Anniversary

IG Steckler is greeted by an enthusiastic audience at South Florida 912

Thanks to all who filled in this evening – Shannon Armstrong, co-founder, was ill – so Dennis Lipp jumped in to MC for the evening.   Mickey Polulack, as usual, set up our sound system.  Several folks handled t-shirt sales and sign-ins.

Dennis kicked off the meeting by welcoming Tyler Armstrong, Shannon and Doug’s son, who led us in the Pledge and Prayer.  Dennis invited all of us to attend the Palm Beach County Tea Party’s Tax Day Tea Party  on Sunday in Wellington.  Hope to see all of you there.

Next, Fred Scheibl showed everyone where to find the Palm Beach County Voter’s Guide on the South Florida 912 website, as well as on many other grassroots websites.  The Voter’s Guide covers all races from President down to School Board and we hope it will be a useful reference tool as we go through the primary in August and the general election in November.

Dennis then introduced the Inspector General (IG) for Palm Beach County, Sheryl Steckler.  He had first met Mrs. Steckler when she was being interviewed for the position – along with many other very accomplished applicants.  He recounted South Florida 912’s involvement from the original ordinances, the Charter Amendment vote that extended it to the cities, and the importance of the IG’s efforts.

The IG explained the scope of the office, covering the Audit, Contract Oversight and Investigative Sections.  She took us through various cases and findings related to each of the units – and how over time, the procedural changes and awareness by government entities will result in significant savings and government efficiencies for the public – her stakeholders.    Check out the dashboard on the Inspector General Website for the latest news, findings, and statistics.

Mrs. Steckler also described her volunteer program for those who attend municipal council meetings or County meetings – those who volunteer will be trained in what to look for on agendas for those meetings or agenda items or votes that may be of interest to the Inspector General.   There were a number of questions and a lot of folks stayed behind to talk with the IG after the meeting.

Lynne Sherrer spoke about a banner that was paid for and asked for donations to help pay for it, along with copies of The Road to Serfdom that she would be willing to order and hand-out.  Candidates then spoke for a couple of minutes:   Anna Trujillo running for Congressional District 21 against Ted Deutch;   Sean Michael Kasper running against Lori Berman for State House District 90;  Lowell Levine, running for School Board District 1, and Joe Talley running for PBC Sheriff against Sheriff Ric Bradshaw.

Dennis closed the meeting.  Thanks to all who came out this evening.
