Jason Shields, 1967-2013 – Rest in Peace, Friend

The South Florida 912 is saddened by the loss of our good friend and fellow patriot Jason Shields. Jason was a key leader in the group since the founding and contributed greatly to our successes.

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,

But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;

For tho’ from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crost the bar.

    I want to thank the South Florida 912 Group for an absolutely amazing tribute to my brother Jason Shields. He was a marvelous human being and loved every bit of this group. He will be sorely missed and I thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your sympathy and kindness.

  2. I will remember Jason for his enthusiasm and his wonderful greeting to all he met. He worked hard in our 912 group and is missed by many. Rest well in the Lord, Jason!
